Our shop has over 4000 square feet of inspiration, including over 7000 bolts of fabric. Collections range from batiks, traditional, contemporary, thirties and children's fabrics, to seasonal and civil war. Our walls are lined with samples of the latest creations, sure to inspire you.
LUCY BOSTON Patchwork of the Crosses

We are having so much fun with the Lucy Boston blocks.  These exquiste English Paper Pieced blocks are made from honeycomb papers, covered with fabric, and whip stitched together.  We have a class on March 19th if you would like to learn the skills you need to make the blocks, or come by the shop and pick up a book on her methods.

We have lots of fabric packets put together at the shop, featuring collections of a stripe or signature piece, coordinated with five complimentary coordinates.  Each of these packags should do two blocks, plus have plenty left over to coordinate with other fabrics.

Our most favorite tools for doing these blocks are the Lucy Boston book, Honeycomb paper pieces, Honeycomb template and Sewline Fabric Glue stick.  All are available in our Online Store.

Isn't this new group from Moda nice? This group is called Round Robin by Kathy Schmitz.

Kathy wrote on the Moda web site about how she created this line. "When I sat down to draw this new line I knew I wanted to encircle the center design motif with a repeating border. After doodling different images and shapes my designs seemed to have a similar thread – home and gardens. And what garden would be complete without a singing Robin Red Breast or two? Spring was slow to reach Portland and looking out my studio window I saw gray clouds and wished for a ray of sunshine. So I decided to mix up some bright, sunny colors to paint my design and it just seemed to fill the page with sunshine. I hope it brightens your day too."

Moda has posted a free pattern for this group -

We're showing you this beautiful sample that's hanging in the shop now. It's called Lucky Stars and was so nicely pieced by Cindy Carr. This comes to us from Atkinson Designs. It's a fat quarter friendly pattern that can be made in five sizes from kids (45 by 60 inches) to king (120 by 120 inches).

We picked this pattern to celebrate because we're counting our lucky stars that we have so many wonderful customers and lots of you are following us here on Facebook. We started at 116 last July when we started posting daily and now we're up to 271. How great is that?!
