Class Schedule

peace & Appliqué offers so many classes and clubs that we are sure there is one just right for you! Our schedule is below, but classes are being added all the time. For a calendar view, check out Events and Class Calendar page. Call or email us today for the most current list of events and happenings. Also, if you would like to take a class that is not listed here, let us know and we will do everything possible to make that happen for you.

Class Policies: Registration is required at least one week before the class. Payment is needed to confirm registration for classes and hold your place. Payment can be made by cash, check, or charge, and can be either mailed in, done in person at the shop, or phoned into the shop.

A class will be held if there are at least three registered. If we cancel a class due to low enrollment, illness, or other cause, a refund will be made. If the student does not come to class, the class fee is forfeited. All classes require a basic sewing kit, including machine (except hand-work classes), thread, needles marking pen, scissors, ripper, mat, rulers, and rotary cutter. Any additional supplies will be listed.

Aunt Philly's Toothbrush Rug	Tues	Sept 9	1:00-3:00	$15 + supplies	Julie will be teaching you how to use those scraps of fabric to make this wonderfully simple rug, or placemat, or table mat. $15 class fee plus supplies - a great way to get rid of those gorgeous scraps!
Beginning Hand Quilting	1st and 3rd Thurs	Oct and Nov	6:00-8:00	$40	Susan will teach you the basics of hand piecing and quilting in this wonderful class.
Beginning Machine Piecing	Sat	Sept 6, 20, 27, and Oct 4	Noon-3:00	$60	Sharon will be teaching you the beginning steps to quilting by machine, including rotary cutting, 1/4" seam, piecing, and putting it all together. What a great class.
Beginning Machine Quilting	Sat Sat	Sept 13 Nov 8	10:00- 12:00	$15/ session	Cindy will guide you through the intricacies of machine quilting your quilt top - free motion, in the ditch, grid - she'll get you off to a great start.
Beginning Paper Piecing FYI Class	Wed Wed	Oct 29 Nov 5	1:00-4:00	$15	Kay will get you started on paper piecing so that you can continue into more complex projects. A great way to learn this technique.
Bernina Club	2nd Thurs	Continues	1:00 or 6:00 pm	$5 refund-able fee	A club for all of you Bernina owners! Bernina Club is an exciting way to learn more about your machine - a special foot or technique, or how to use your regular feet! Your $5 fee will be refunded at the time of your shop purchase the same day of the class.
Contemporary Quilt FYI Classes	Wed Wed	Sept 10 Sept 17 & 24		$30	Kay Etheridge will help you to "Think Outside the box" to make a contemporary quilt using some basic techniques from the book, "Think outside the box".
Crazy Quilters	1st & 3rd Mon	Continues	10:00 - noon	Free	This is a satellite group of the Springfield Quilters Guild. The group stitches and quilts on their own projects and enjoys each other's company. Come and join the fun.
Do Your Own Thing	4th Mon	Continues	6:30-8:30	$10/ session	Join Carlene on the 4th Monday evening to work on your own project. This master quilter has all the experience you need to get help with piecing, appliqué, construction, binding, and more. Bring your project and see!! Registration is required.
Happy Birthday ABE!	4th Thurs	Continues	2:30-4:30 or 6:30-8:30 pm	$30 annual fee	This group is working on quilts to commemorate Abe Lincoln with Civil War quilts - either pieced or appliquéd. Jill provides a pattern each month. In January, the project will be 30's style quilts. Such fun!
Miss Sadie's Finishing Club	3rd Thurs	Continues	10:00 - 3:00	Free	No teacher - just fun and project finishing! This club is the place to be to finish those projects that just aren't getting done. Must have six unfinished projects to join and can't start a new project at the club. This is free and great fun! We take turns providing lunch for the group!
One Block Wonder Encore FYI Classes	Wed Weds	Oct 15 Oct 22 Oct 29		$30	Starting with the FYI on Oct 15, and following with two classes the next two Wednesdays, this is one step beyond the original One-Block Wonder, but if you haven't done the original, you can still enjoy this class under Kay's excellent tutelage. These quilts are beautiful! Class fee is $30 and the book is required.
Punch Needle Class	Tues	Sept 23	1:00-3:00	$10	Julie will give you tips and tricks on this old needle art. Class fee is $10. Kits and tools will be available for purchase at the class.
Quilt Club	4th Thurs	Continues	1:00	Free	Come to this Show & Tell and receive a free pattern for a special project. We have a great time seeing what others are doing and it's free!
Reversible Batik Jacket FYI Classes	Tues Tues	Oct 7 Oct 14 Oct 21	1:00-4:00	$30	With the FYI on Oct 7 and two class on the next two Tuesdays, join Lois as we make this simple, reversible quilted jacket. Class fee is $30.
Ricky Tims Convergence Tree of Life	Thurs Thurs	Oct 30 Nov 6	1:00-4:00	$30	Learn how to make Ricky's convergence quilt wall hanging, and then add an appliquéd tree of life. Lots of fun! $30 class fee and the pattern is required.
Saturday Sampler	1st Sat	Continues	8:30 - 9:45	$5 for first block	Continues: Our 10th Saturday Sampler is starting September 6, 2008. More information will come soon. The first block is $5. Bring it back finished the next month and your next block is free! If you don't make it in time, the blocks are $5/month. Join us!
T-shirt Quilt	Mon	Oct 6	1:00-4:00	$15	Sharon will guide you through cutting your t-shirts and preparing them to make a one-of-a-kind quilt. Book is required and the class fee is $15.
Work by Hand Club	3rd Wed	Continues	10:00- noon	$30/ year	This is an opportunity to have Jill instruct/help you with your hand work project including quilting and appliqué. Any level of skill is needed, everyone will learn new things!
