Weekly Design Set: Raw Edge Flowers

The Raw-Edge Flower Collection provides 10 different quilt blocks all created using the raw-edge applique technique. If you have never used raw-edge applique, let us explain! With this technique, there is no finishing stitch around the outside edge like there is in a traditional embroidery design. Additionally, remember when trimming your raw-edge appliques you do not need to trim them as close as you normally would. Be sure to leave about 1/8 of fabric around the edge past the stitch line.
The raw-edge applique gives these designs a unique look, especially when paired with funky, fun fabrics. Other fabrics that can be used with this technique include wool, denim, sweater and jersey fabrics too. We chose a few floral fabrics and one solid shade of blue to stitch out all ten designs. These designs can be combined with other Anita Goodesign collections. The 10 blocks alone can create a charming wall hanging or quilt, but explore the options of mixing it with your other favorite Anita Goodesign collections. Each of the blocks come in 5 different sizes too!
